With unwavering resolve, she embarked on a journey to find a provider who would treat her with respect and give her the opportunity to prove herself.

3 kids, A Loss, and then Her Rainbow Baby: Daisy's Pure Next Birth

Daisy's story is like none other. 3 charming children born of 3 hospital births, then a 4th baby, stillborn, lost during Covid among providers scared to touch or treat her. Daisy's parents believed there was a better way for her. Daisy came looking for a Partera, like her parents knew from their Mexican village : the traditional world where midwives are a long line of women who support the women in their village in their birthing. She googled "midwife" and found home birth. In this bubbly podcast, Daisy describes the treatment she received in all 4 of her births and how those births lit a fire in her to find something else. Her parents had seen something better and pointed her in her direction where, she found her way.

You can't help but hear wisdom and love when Daisy speaks. She is like none other. I love her so much. You, dear listener, will have a joy in your heart too as her words touch your heart.

The Funnies: Lola and Raul's Exciting VBAC Better Next Birth

Lola and Raul, a lovely funny duo with the burning desire for a better birth after a chaotic hospital cesarean, share their hectic and insanity-inducing first birth. Deployed for part of the pregnancy, Raul was not able to support her when Lola was diagnosed and medicated for gestational diabetes. NOW she shares her incredible journey with her 2nd baby, and how it caused him to lose 30 pounds and she’s become a farmer who wants to grow fruits and veggies on a biosphere!

Lola’s story is a very common one: She recounts medical interventions that were introduced and lack of control and information she needed.

Raul shares his experiences during Lola's first birth and his perspective as a partner. He literally has a new sense of confidence after supporting Lola to have a better second birth.

Through better education, personal attention, and lifestyle changes, Raul and Lola made dietary adjustments during Lola's second pregnancy, resulting in a healthier lifestyle. Plus we laugh a ton on this one.

Hey there, lovely listeners! Julie and Tevin were the resounding crackle of INSPIRATION for this midwife to bring help for better births to second time births. This is THEM! Julie and Tevin! The folks you see on all the glossy images on the website and the podcast front page. Julie and Tevin changed how I thought about what I was doing and what they needed - what all my families need - to get that better birth.

So today we get to dive into the heartwarming world of Julie and Tevin. They share their experience of a hard first birth - labor with an epidural, being checked for dilation frequently, getting no support, feeling numb, and not being able to move during the labor process.

Then how, for their second baby, Julie and Tevin realized the significance of listening to her body. They share how they cultivated his full support, and how Tevin became secure in his role as her rock. He actually learned how to TRUST and be calm in their birth - which made the process ENJOYABLE for him. This, my friends, is GOLD.

Flood and Redemptions : My Tub In Their Shower: Jen and Derek's Hilarious 2nd Birth

Hi Parents! Today, Jen and Derek talk about their needs in their first pregnancy for more in-depth discussions. They report feeling rushed in their midwife appointments through a process guided. Kayti highlights the challenges within the healthcare system that often lead to rushed appointments and limited discussion time.

Jennifer shares her fear of epidurals and desire to avoid them. She talked about her discomfort with the hospital environment and the fear of being confined to a bed during labor.

Taking a different approach, Jennifer discusses her second pregnancy and how she sought a more personalized and informed approach to a second childbirth.

Jen and her partner, Derek, a physician anesthesiologist, were initially QUITE skeptical of a home birth. Derek's unique perspective as both a father and a healthcare professional is highlighted, as he speaks on his initial willingness to explore Jen’s idea of a home birth.

Jennifer decided to pursue a home birth and the midwife offered more time and personalized attention during appointments, allowing Jennifer to feel heard and informed. The couple recalls their comfortability and secureness when they first met with midwife Kayti. Their concerns were addressed, leading to increased confidence in the home birth decision.

After discussions and well informed decision making, Jen and Derek had a successful and wondrous second birth. (In the inflatable tub, that was in their shower...)
