Darren and John start the podcast by saying they don't want to talk about sports and then spend the entire 75 minutes talking about sports.
First, the guys discuss what San Diego FC's game tonight against Mazatlán means and what fans should be looking for. There should be plenty of opportunities for some of the guys on the bench to get real playing time and impress the coaching staff for the stretch run into the MLS Playoffs.
Then, Darren and John turn their attention to the San Diego Padres, who lost last night in Arizona and stirred up the fanbase with yet another increase in season ticket prices. The guys look back at the new acquisitions and talk about how trades aren't quite as simple and clean and fans make them out to be before getting into the supply-and-demand aspect of increasing the cost of attending a Padres game. Also, does tourism (and a potential lockout?) factor into these future plans at all?
Finally, the guys talk a little bit about Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues, an upcoming docuseries that covers Tom Brady's involvement as a minority owner of the Birmingham City Football Club.
