Darren Smith and John Gennaro preview the weekend ahead, starting with an explanation of what weep holes are and how to clean them ahead of this weekend's deluge of rain that is expected to soak San Diego county. We get a full report from the Section 1904 Weather Desk so that we know how to prepare.

Then, on the two-year anniversary of Peter Seidler's passing, the guys talk about Sheel Seidler mentioning Darren on her Instagram and wonder how her grief over losing her husband must be entangled with a forthcoming sale of the San Diego Padres.

They also spend quite a bit of time (not on purpose) discussing the article in the local paper that welcomes the return of maybe the worst "owner" in the history of the Padres.

From there, they discuss why Major League Soccer is switching the time of year in which their regular season will be played and the changes made to MLS Season Pass that will make it easier for everyone to watch San Diego FC going forward.

The guys also talk about San Diego State's football team, which still seems like a bit of a mystery box and probably will remain so even after what should be a very wet game at Snapdragon Stadium against the Boise State Broncos on Saturday night, before throwing out a couple of recommendations in this week's installment of Try This!
