Part of my personal mission is to connect people to heaven so they can receive revelation for their lives and know that the path they are on is acceptable by the Lord. I have the feeling that if each of us were visited by the Lord and he told us we are on the right path, we would have a whole lot less resistance to our lives and ourselves and that would lead to feeling better. You could be feeling the spirit, but not recognizing it because the spirit is speaking in ways you don't expect.
